“Tiny Deaths”, a new body of embroidery and mixed-media work by Emily Selvin, explores the delicate beauty of life's end in breathtaking detail. At the heart of Selvin's exhibition lies a profound desire to honor the lives of creatures often relegated to the periphery of our consciousness. Drawing from a deeply empathetic perspective, Selvin's work pays homage to the intrinsic value of all life forms, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. Her art is a meditation on the interconnectedness of nature and humanity, challenging societal norms surrounding death and mourning. Through her embroidery and glass, she seeks to elevate the humblest of beings, acknowledging their vital role in maintaining the delicate balance of our ecosystem.
